Candidates must be U.S. citizens under age 30 at the time of application and should have studied in the fields of military studies, economic geography, international relations, political science, history, or similar fields. Candidates should have career goals in the areas of military service, national security, intelligence, or diplomacy. Applicants from ROTC programs and military colleges are encouraged to apply as early as possible in order to leave time for securing the necessary permission to defer their active duty service.
The Foundation awards fellowships solely on the basis of merit and without regard to race, religion, ethnic origin, or gender.
